In 2009 the University of Adelaide undertook a significant masterplan of the Hughes Plaza precinct which lies at the heart of their campus. The outcome was to develop a significant student hub (Hub Central) that provided a one stop shop for students, as well as informal learning and social spaces.
John was commissioned, having been involved in the Hughes Plaza masterplan, to work closely with the Barr Smith Library to rethink how it delivered its services in the context of a ‘one stop shop’.
The outcome of these two projects is a 9,000m2 Student Hub that integrates closely with the Barr Smith Library to provide an enhance student experience.
